Our Story: A calling, not just a Crop

 

Delmer Langley grew up in Eastern North Carolina with his mother, father, and three siblings, raised in a family grounded in faith, hard work, and personal responsibility. After graduating from high school, he began farming alongside his father, learning early that agriculture was about far more than producing crops—it was about stewardship of the land, service to others, and doing honest work with care and integrity.

Delmer developed a deep respect for agriculture and the farming community. He loved working the land just as much as he enjoyed talking with fellow farmers, exchanging knowledge, and learning through lived experience. Those years shaped his practical, common-sense approach—knowledge earned through long days in the field rather than in a classroom.

After his father passed away, Delmer sold most of his farming equipment and entered a new chapter by joining Southern States Cooperative. There, he worked his way up from operating equipment to becoming one of the Cooperative’s lead chemical and fertilizer salesmen, earning multiple awards for his performance. Although he did not attend college like many in the industry, Delmer stood out because of his firsthand farming background. He understood how crops grow because he had lived it, and farmers trusted him because he spoke from real-world experience.

Delmer married his high school sweetheart, Susan, and together they raised three daughters. Family remained the foundation of everything he did. Staying connected to agriculture, Delmer built two 300-foot greenhouses where he grew tobacco and supplied farmers who were unable to produce enough on their own. Even then, his work was guided by a desire to support others and strengthen the farming community.

As the tobacco industry began to change, Delmer felt called to adapt once again. In 2019, after prayer, research, and conversations with trusted agricultural and regulatory contacts in North Carolina, he founded DEL Hemp Farm. This decision was not driven by trends or profit. Delmer did not start the farm to help people experience psychoactive effects. He started it because he believed the hemp plant had been placed on this earth to help people heal.

Beginning with CBD products, Delmer quickly realized that this plant represented far more than retail opportunity. He witnessed firsthand how DEL Hemp Farm products were helping individuals manage heartburn, seizures, arthritic joint pain, post-surgical discomfort, sleep disturbances, anxiety, stress, PTSD, cancer-related symptoms, and more. What began as a farm evolved into something greater—a wellness-focused operation rooted in faith, education, and genuine care for others.

As word spread, customers began traveling from South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and beyond. With that growth came an increased sense of responsibility. DEL Hemp Farm operates with strict attention to detail, maintaining full legal compliance while holding itself to the highest standards of quality—from cultivation and harvesting to formulation, packaging, and labeling.

The company takes pride in never targeting children through its marketing or packaging. Every jar and bag is heat-sealed to enhance product safety, particularly for individuals with decreased finger dexterity. Labels clearly state “Keep Out of Reach of Children,” and QR codes provide direct access to third-party Certificates of Analysis, allowing customers to see exactly what they are consuming. Clear milligram dosing is listed on every product to promote informed and responsible use.

When customers purchase directly from the farm, Delmer or Ashley personally educates them on proper use, including dosage, purpose, and timing. Education is not an added feature—it is a core responsibility of the operation.

DEL Hemp Farm does not source materials from outside farms or third-party businesses. Every step occurs within the operation, from clones taken from mother plants to the distillate used in finished products. Distillate produced from DEL Hemp Farm plants is sent to a USDA-approved candy manufacturer for the production of CBD gummies, ensuring consistency, accurate dosing, quality control, and public safety.

Driven by a continued desire to help others, Delmer developed a CBD topical salve that is pending a U.S. patent as of October 2025, with plans to debut at national trade shows in 2026.
